My first try at pastels! It takes some practise but I like them. Cant wait to try a new one.Derwent Pastel Pencils

I haven't tried pastels (except oil pastels in highschool but that doesn't count)
I plan on trying them in the future, especially after seeing Leslie Harrison's work. Β Any tips/advice?

Just buy some pastel pencils and go for it. I used them the way I used my colored pencils. Blending is fantastic and lighter colors can easily go over darker colors. Use a rough surface, smooth paper won't hold on to the grainy pastel. And practice! It will be fun.
