Description
March 200916"x20" cotton canvas,
Rembrandt Series 1 oil paint.
Notes: This is one of those rare pieces of mine that actually don't have a direct influence from music.
This is also one of those times where I'm not sure if writing anything further will help or hinder how this is viewed:
- In one sense, it's an abstraction
- In the other, and what actually fuelled the final title* - it appears as a city on a hill, resting above water.
(or perhaps none of the above?)
I'll let you decide what you see, hah.
*A possibly obvious rip from the film that shares the same name. One that comes highly recommended, by the way.

good play with abstract - almost figurativeness. i thought of a city in the sky when i saw the thumb, before seeing the title.

the red part reminds me of the texture , structure of a piece of clothes, full and rich in contrast to the other part of the painting

it's just so... real .-. reminds me of the reality in the poorests parts of Brazil,it's like the houses in the hill were on fire, like if there was a police fire shooting there, and the red would represent the blood and the violence that happens there. Great composition and use of colors, very well deserved DD!
