Sadly, no. I did a variation on a hat shape by Cosette Cornelius-Bates, which can be found in her book Knit One, Embellish Too, which is, incidentally, my all-time favorite knitting book and biggest inspiration. If you like to knit hats, I seriously recommend this book!

My favorite is the Little Red hat as well. So much so that I bought it. xD *is somewhat obsessed with that fairy tale*
I really love all of these, though. Your hats are wonderful!

Aw, cool! I sent it off a couple days ago. If it's not there Wednesday, it should be there after Thanksgiving.

I know, I want to make more little red riding hoods. ;D

Oh, I got it today, actually! I love it (And your handwriting is awesome.)
I only wish it were cold enough here to get away with wearing it now. Funny, I never thought I'd be hoping for colder weather...

Some of them. I learned a lot from patterns in books and online before I could learn to make my own.

Where you learn to knit hats like that, lily-fox?
Also, do you use circular needles?
Do you go by any general patterns, or do you make 'em all up from scratch?

I like them all.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lily-fox In reply to ProphetGeist [2009-11-03 10:09:19 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I learned the most from a great book: Knit One, Embellish Too by Cosette Cornelius-Bates. Also from Ravelry, a font of great patterns.

I do use circulars -- I actually learned to knit on a circular.

It took me a while of practicing with patterns to learn the anatomy of a hat. Now that I know, I can make 'em up as I go!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ProphetGeist In reply to lily-fox [2009-11-03 17:59:24 +0000 UTC]

I can understand. I need to buy some circulars so badly. I'd definitely like to get one of those exchangeable sets. Your stuff is super-cute and really creative. I'd buy one if I had the cash. lol.

Thanks for the inspiration!

lily-fox In reply to ProphetGeist [2009-11-03 22:34:10 +0000 UTC]

Let me tell you, I wish I had had the sense to buy an interchangable set of circulars, because I have amassed so many it's ridiculous. It would have saved me so much money. DO IT!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ProphetGeist In reply to lily-fox [2009-11-04 00:01:20 +0000 UTC]

lol. I surely will.
Also, have you ever made socks?
I recently bought my first set of dpn and was planning to make socks or a hat. I got too frustrated, but I plan on trying again soon.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lily-fox In reply to ProphetGeist [2009-11-04 01:47:32 +0000 UTC]

I tried knitting socks once, and it was such a headache that I frogged it and never tried again. See, i like hats because you can start it on a circular and finish it on dpns. It's great practice for getting comfy with dpns.

Quit tempting me with all your hatty goodness!

I just have to keep reminding myself that I already have 2 of you wonderous hats, and I do NOT need anymore, not right now anyway....

By the way, I still get complimented all the time on my lovely 'good to be green' hat

Ha ha! Seriously, babe, save your money now. If you see more hats that you love, just remember them and I can knit dupes when we're all a little deeper in the green.

I'm so glad you love that hat. It loves you!
