I generally don't find children to be cute nor do I like them. Sure, there could be exceptions, but overall no.Fictional children that could be in comics, cartoons (both western and animé) or video games (for example) are just so much better at being cute. Of course, they're normally designed to be that way. A bit of a generalisation, but you know.
Cereza from Bayonetta is a pretty damn good example of what I'm talking about. She's so adorable. :3

Fictional children are cute from video games I would list Cereza (Bayonetta), Hat Kid (A Hat in Time), Villager Kids (Animal Crossing Series), Jill (Drill Dozer), Toon Link (The Wind Waker), Lip (Panel de Pon), Popo and Nana (Ice Climbers), etc. I would also include Vanellope (Wreck-It Ralph). Sometimes I can't stand why kids nowadays act a little spoiled and crying a lot, but not saying every child is like, thought it can be hard to tell if kids are well behaved. Mostly I still prefer fictional children.

I guess it depends on the child. Children in cartoons are drawn in a clearly "cute" style, but that doesn't mean that real-world children aren't cute. True, a bratty kid whining at the supermarket may not be cute, but a well-behaved kid could easily be. I see your point and agree sometimes, but you'd be surprised at how adorbs a kid can be when he/she isn't having a hissy fit and throwing toys everywhere.

Yeah children can be cute, but only when they aren't screaming and misbehaving. Trust me, I used to work at Walmart.
