Description
So, this is my imagining of the Jaberwock. Kind of a mix between a horse and a dog...with a few dragon-ish elements. A mixture of media: watercolor, colored pencil and brushpen. I'm pretty happy with it. When I first started out I thought I totally ruined it, but I muddled through ok.I used a different paper than usual, Fabriano instead of Arches. My local art supply store was giving out free samples, so I raided a few. It's ok for practice stuff, I suppose, but doesn't take to layering very well. Some of my early washes were washed away by layers that I put on top. So it does have it's limitations when dealing with my style of watercoloring.
Pretty small: 6" x 8.29", mixed media.

I totally know that poem by heart! We used it in a play and so I heard this lady say it soooo many times. I say it like she does, with all these flourishes and guestures. Soooo much fun.

Your illustraitons are SO book worthy. The choice of color, both in vibrancey and it's palette are just spot on the subject and atmosphere.
Did I mention you do atmosphere like amaizng?

Halfway through this piece I hated it, my under washes kept washing away (stoopid Fabriano Paper) and my blue wash on the bg smeared the flowers...somehow it pulled through. Thank God for colored pencil.

Oh, COlord pencil is the savour. I am actually going to be using them from my BG laouts in my film... they really give an amazing atmosphere! XD
