Bruh this shit right here just boils my blood, especially because I used to be like this. Don't be like me. Get over it, and respect the artist and what their audience is willing to pay. Oh, and the fact that this is a significant portion of their livelihood that they earn just like everyone else. In the broad scheme of things, $300+ is not very much at all.

It's not ridiculous at all. When buying this character you are paying for the artists time, and looking at this lovely design I'd say a lot of work went into this (it doesn't matter if it doesn't have a background, this is a unique design and sketches, colouring adjustments and getting the perfect lines that make this so damn satisfying to look at need to be considered) so when you look at the price and divide it by the hours spent it's a fair wage for a professional, especially one with 11 years experience under her belt (as detailed on her profile) as you're also paying for that quality. You're also paying for the rights to the character, which bumps up the price, and on top of that you're paying for the fact it's a design from a well-known artist in the community.
So taking all that into consideration, 300 isn't overpricing at all and it shouldn't be mocked. Its really a shame that so many artists on this site and others have to under price their work, and you shouldn't be leaving comments such as these that would convince them that their art is worth less, when really its worth more! But there are some who have been able to fairly price their artwork (as mentioned by many other people much more has been spent on similar pieces, just because its an online site doesn't mean there aren't still big buyers, it might be more competitive but a decent amount of people live off their earnings here) and I think it's great that LilaiRa has been able to price her art like this and if I had the extra cash I would happily spend it and AB this design! And I'm sure others feel the same way.
Also you seemed to infer earlier that traditional art is in someway superior to digital which is p toxic and not at all true.

You do realize you're purchasing a design, yes? This is a character you will have all creative rights to once it is yours. Lila is selling a creature you can use in any project you like, or just for personal use.
Saying that's too high is ignoring the work of professional concept and industry artists everywhere.
Not to mention, if someone pays the AB ( which they aren't even obligated to), she has offered to throw in more art of the character / an anthro design, which is pretty generous given many adopts don't even do that much and sell for way higher.

well it's whose ever buys the character business if they want to pay for the Autobuy option. It's really no ones business besides the buyer's on how much they spend on whatever they want. The Autobuy option is just that "An option" No one is obligated to pay that much flat out.
Artist can put the price they want and this is an auction for rights to a design.
You'd be surprised as to how some designs can sell for much higher then this one. The adopt community is huge and sometimes the prices can be very high.

It's not like I expect people to pay that much <: D
People set their own price and the most I got was 500 so I base my AB of that.
I don't think there is a reason to judge people's choices and how they want to spend their money.
Adoptable/species community is HUGE, it's basicly a hobby like any other.

you dont understand. its just the ab, its not obligatory. obviously the auction didnt even go that high, the ab is just an endpoint cap. it really doesnt matter how high or low it is. and its not just about the art, most of the time people are willing to pay high prices for adopts or commissions to support an artist they love. ive seen all white "albino" simple ass adopts go for like $50+, i still think its quite stupid to buy something like THAT now and its generally just because the artist is popular, but again its for support. this gorgeous design is only at 45 right now
