Description We are disgusting
Not worthy of compassion.

Polished marble casings which gleam in the sun.
The fragrance of fresh flowers mix with the aroma of sweet oil.
Our good deeds carved in stone facing the heavens for all the world to admire.

Yet beneath the damp and musty soil our flesh rots.
Our skin disintegrates
clinging to yellowed bones.
But we have already decayed.

Grudges held with jealousy drove us away.
Bittered our tears and left us without forgiveness.

The chemicals which we consume have soured our flesh.
Yellowed our skin.
Extinguished us from within,
leaving the worms with vile remains.

Our materialistic ways have hardened us to plastic.
Machines fueled by money, power and greed.
Constantly polluting with the exhaust of our boastful self-righteous attitudes.

Our vanity has bronzed our skin with artificiality.
Our radiant self value.
A culture filled with false identity.
Everyday we slither into new skin.
Trying to be something we are not.

No longer able to think of a future filled with silver linings.
We are a culture of sniveling infants.
Shrieking with self pity.

When our flesh crackles in flames,
and our bones crumble to dust...
Then we will understand the concept of importance.
