Description
This is for *theme-of-the-week 's theme Wasted.At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to draw to this theme, but I tried some various ideas and I ended up doing what I do best.
Bad boys.
This is no known character - I have affectionately started calling him Dare however - but like *Verdokai said, I must have been channeling Nikita while drawing him
Since yes, there are some similarities, but also many differences...
Dare is a random however, and we'll see if I ever use him in a roleplay.
This picture was... urr... tricky. Not only because I haven't drawn tiles that often, but because I have been going through some serious moodswings lately, so my feelings for it varied a lot >_>
I ended up re-colouring many parts of this just because I didn't know if I liked them or not, but now it's finished and I can get it out of my system

on the wall, which stands for Nikita and Que x'D - and overall it was quite interesting...And yeah, it says Wasted on the wall, just in case someone doesn't think that Dare looks wasted enough on his own to fit the theme

Referring to the description, I can assure you he does look wasted enough on his own
The blood on the sink and his knuckles makes me wonder - did he get into a brawl, or did he just hit a wall, or the sink, as tense, enraged, desperate or simply hurting people sometimes do? Not that I need to know the answer, just wondering is enough in this case, seeing it's not a character yet (if you haven't decided to play him by now).
Either way, it adds to the rawness of the picture.
The tattoo design on his hand is... threatening, in a way. Let's call it "cool". I don't like using that word, but it fits here.

I actually though about that too
And I think that I reached the conclusion that he did not hit the sink, but leaned against it and probably washed some of the blood off before sitting down, but I'm not sure what he hit in the first place
(And no, I'm not playing him yet. And I don't think that I will... I like him as he is *^_^* )

I Really -really do love his hand tattoo, it's pretty, and the sink reflecting the colour of his hair. Texture on jeans where they are torn *thumb up* And not to forget the GLARE~

wah! I saw this in my gallery as a tiny thumb and my first thought was WTF! Liewyn has been murdered by an evil dark pixie of some form. On closer inspection I decided it was still you drawing. Just at first glance this seemed very different to the sorts of things I'm used to seeing from you.
Good job. I can't say I'm a particular fan of the picture. But that's more a subject matter thing. Technically it's great. I love the colouring and the texture on the tiles is awesome, perhaps a touch more metallic than I would expect but I think it works really well and comes down to style. Though it might just be the gray tones that make me think that
In any case, good picture. It's good to see something from you.

lol, well I don't know what the exact ration is...but for every 'different' picture there is a heap of regular front on portraity like ones. Well I suppose there is quite a few in the most recent batch I went through that weren't but still....that's the impression I get. Though I haven't been on dA in a while so maybe I've just lost the plot.
And just to cover my bases I'm going to develop my hatch brained ideas and claim that any oddities are a result of an evil pixie that takes control of your brain (one that you're not aware of because it can turn invisible) and creates stuff. Just stealing your dA account is far too simple methinks.

OH MY GOODNESS. As ever, your attention to detail is astounding. I find myself staring at his scars and the cracks in the wall and the fabric of his jeans, torn at the knee....
And then it's so unique; most people would stick to dull, morose colors, but you use vivid colors and still manage to make it look really depressing somehow. Awesome pic! ^_^

The details with the torn knees was actually very fun. It's really easy to do those kind of things in Photoshop
I guess that's because I still can't lay off those bright colours x'D Before, all I did had them, but I'm trying to tone them down where it's suitable...

Somehow, I still want to draw for this theme, although I would try to go at the theme 'wasted' a little more differently. Not this classical view of a wasted youth where the guy himself is wasting his time on drugs and liquor and the likes, but more an adult kind of wasted human creature. If nothing else, wasted to society. And yes, I am thinking of just drawing Jason Shields
I'm as always admiring your determination to make even theme of the week-pictures into something worthwhile and pretty, and how you take such pains to make sure every picture meets some sort of standard before you call it a day. Or at least conforms to your general style of colouring and finishing, although it does show which pictures you let take more of your time and not.
(and I know your take on this might include my take on this, but I'm sure you understand what difference I want)
I haven't decided if I like the J-rock elements to his persona yet, but I do know I like that you used some very bright colours in this

I think it's because the Theme of the Week pictures gives me time to work outside what I normally do, and therefore practice and such in a different way >_> I tend to forget improving and all that when I draw just for the heck of it.
The magenta isn't as bright on my screen x'D I got a shock when I saw it on another, because it's nowhere near mine. Mine is like... purple, and less towards the pink Nikita uses >_>

Well, your theme of the week-pictures don't look -better- than your other pictures, I'm just more -impressed- by the fact that they look -good-
(That said mostly because I don't want to be misunderstood, I think this looks very neat indeed)

I love how the lighting looks like he's in a flashlight beam almost.
The knuckles really make mine hurt - especially after seeing the blood on the sink.

This is certainly eye-catching, and I enjoy the dark atmosphere in it. The several wounds and scars on Dare truly make him look wasted, especially the ones on the knuckles. Those grabbed my attention first. ^_^
