Description
There is a type of shark called a Sawfish, people used to cut off their noses/Rostrum to make weapons or souvenir trade so they are now on the endangered list. I wanted one so I thought I would make one out of wood and I had a piece of Quilted Maple I had been saving for something special for 20 years. I carved and used a dye on the wood, added a piece of wood that I covered with gold leaf, and a piece of Ebony, and Spalted Maple for the base. Oh and the teeth were carved out of American Holly. The finish was accomplished using Shellac and a technique called French Polishing.
