Sunflowers are actually addition to the gift he prepared for his aunt, Angelika. <3
She raised him and, in a way, filled the role of Andy's parents, who are absent in his life since birth*, so she is very special to him. I'm sure he took with him, so Cat would "consult" on which exact sunflowers are the best.

Notes and references:
- *They divorced before his birth. Andy never met his mother and father, as they left him to father's grandparents and moved on with their "new" lives... He didn't stay long with them too, and changed a lot of families (who were related to him by blood, but it doesn't help) until Angelika took him from her religious sister.
- Side note: I refer to Angelika as 'aunt' for simplification. She is actually First cousin once removed to Andy.

Aha, I got someone!~ This is Andy, he is wearing color lens here. :3
Thing is, Andy was born with dark brown eyes and had them till teens. He likes blue color and wanted to be more "similar in features" to Angelica(it's one of reasons for the change), his caretaker, who has light eyes, so they would look more like a mother and a son.
Since it's future and all that, he did certain things to his eyes, first "bleaching" them of melanin, then filling with special pigment, that's why blue in his iris is so clean, but there are little patches where pigment is thin, so reddish color can be seen. He is not a doctor or expert to make it perfect. A lot of people do this in his world, so changing eye color not even a weird, but doing it on one's own will sure rise brows of "omg, I would never do that myself". Well, it's pretty popular thing some people abuse, because you can change eyes to whatever color number of times before it gets "too dangerous".
Anyway. He sometimes misses his natural eye color in weird way, so he wears lens as part of the look. x3

The atmosphere here is pretty comfy and homey. It's interesting how this was pulled off for this particular portrait. One might figure, the desaturated colors would portray a melancholy image. What makes the image have more of a nostalgic atmosphere, are the yellow and green sections. They add the slightest pop of contrast against the more neutral brown/gray/black. Plus, they're not overly saturated, which would take away from the portrait. On a separate note, the form/detail on the face and the shoe are quite solid. Overall, nice work.

There is a certain melancholy behind the image, since flowers are meant to his Aunt, who is basically like a mother to him, but he didn't live with her at that time and knew it will be a very short meeting. I guess me thinking of it kinda got on the canvas.
