Description Just FYI, no, I do not care about JK Rowlings beliefs. To me, I am not a celebrity worshipper, nor do I give a damn about celebrities personal beliefs or political leanings.  Even if JK Rowling is a bigot or not, does not affect my life. I do not need celebrities to validate my existence. I have my own life, I am happy being my own person, and all I want is celebrities, artists, writers, and what not to entertain me, not dictate nor lecture on how to live my life. This is not what the stamp is about.

Let me tell you all a little story here about me falling out of love with a popular series of books...

Yes, I am a avid reader of books, and yes, I prefer literary adaptations of popular media to movie versions (for the most part). I just prefer reading and gaming to movies and TV shows (despite having a few favorite films
and shows of my own. I just like using my imagination and interactivity related entertainment). So, yeah, you know where I am getting at here.

I use to enjoy the Harry Potter novels, despite all of its storytelling flaws and its designated protagonist syndrome with the characters. No, I never liked the movies based off the books. I wanted to like the movies, but I just thought they were bland, lifeless, and forgettable, compared to other fantasy films I watched growing up. But I did casually enjoy the books at times.

But then came the fandom, and boy, I regret poking my nose into the fandom.

Yet people say Twilight has the worst fandom when it comes to literature? Though to be fair, with Twilight, both the fandom and hatedom are completely toxic. But with the Harry Potter fandom, it is even worse than the Twilight fandom.

We have crappy fanfics that are laughably bad at best, Snape wives (As well as women children breaking up and divorcing their spouses over Snape, of all fictional characters), People comparing the real world to Hogwarts and the Wizarding world, as well as people making Shotacon/Lolicon art and fanfics on the series (much worse with the adult on child shippings.)  Where is the outrage on the child porn fanworks of Harry Potter?

I re-read the books, despite the toxicity of the fandom, and well, after reading various types of literature out there growing up, I saw Harry Potter is nothing ground breaking nor does it add new, unique twists and turns. It is just a simple, generic Young Adult fantasy series that goes a little too overboard and simplicity, when it comes to its characters, story line, and universe. Though to be fair, I did love the Weasely family a lot, and thought either Ron or Ginny made a better lead character than the super wooden Harry Potter himself. I also liked Hagrid and thought he deserved better IMO.

These are the reasons why I left the Harry Potter fandom, and is no longer a fan of the series.
