Heh! I actually used that on a dnd session. Heroes arrive to find the relic of power frozen in a block of ice. When they try to melt it, they discover... IT WAS A GELATINOUS CUBE ALL ALONG! WAAH!

Gelatinous cubes: one flavour of jello that nobody wants to eat. Them and black pudding.
Funny story that happened to a friend of mine in second edition. Apparently, when you cast a summon monster spell, the DM is supposed to randomly roll what appears. Not knowing that gelatinous cubes were on the list, my friend unintentionally summoned a pair of them - in an elevator shaft.
