Description This is a little old...
After having to analyze the palette of Narmer a few billion times I decided to draw some serpopards. Bitey ones.

They're a new one to me too.  Suppose you'd like them to be a SSU race?

I sure do. How do you think you'd like them to look?

I figure like leonine, but with long necks.

Serpopard bite is always a back attack ( +2 to hit ) and you have to roll a save against poison.

Plus they're pretty ^__^

Thank you

I don't know what they were for on the palette; serpopards are a fairly common motif in the earliest phases of civilization in Mesopotamia and Egypt but nobody really knows what their deal is. Lions and snakes were important animals in almost all ancient civilizations so maybe it's just one of those compound creatures of meaningful critters like the sphinx, only it didn't really catch on much.

Wow. I always love how you draw mammals and serpents... you give them creepy yet really awesome eyes and claws, and the shading in the fur is always really cool and gives uber depth to the bodies and character to the beasts themselves. Simple back and foregrounds are done oh-so nicely also. Geez, stop being so awesome.
