Description Drawn on a little scrappy bit of paper, but saw this in a dream one night, can't say it was exactly a 'Nightmare' as I've grown up gaming and can think of a few ways to vanquish it, but for those not overly fond of Man-eating-plants and foliage, this would certainly be something you wouldn't wanna meet on a dark night!
This could also count towards 'Tangle' and possibly 'Scream' (Namely something someone might do when they see it rear up out of the ground...lol

EDIT (20/10/23): Okay, here we go, make of it what your will, but inspiration has struck and I've gotta get this information down somewhere!

Venus Monstera: The main structure of a Venus Monstera resembles a large, vibrantly coloured bulb which rests upon a mound of soft earth. Hidden around this mound lie an array of barbed vines which stretch at least five metres in every direction from the plant’s base and are capable of picking up vibrations both above and below the ground. The VM uses these vines to latch onto its prey and drag it close, it then leans its entire bulb forward and opens its mouth wide enough to swallow its victim whole.

It is reported to take anything from 5 to 7 days to fully digest a target depending on the size of the plant and persistent struggling simply stimulates the Monstera to produce more digestive enzymes which in turn speeds up the process.

Anyone intent on removing or destroying this organism needs to be aware that the plant is guarded by not only the aforementioned barbed vines, but also by a secondary set of defences which resemble tall stems upon which rest its illustrious Flytrap heads. If persistent movement is detected, these heads will lunge towards the source, latching on with needle-like teeth which are designed to prevent escape whilst the vines drag their hapless victim towards the main bulb – They can also leave a nasty mark upon bare skin if you’re unlucky enough to get bitten somewhere unprotected.

Pruning VM heads can be achieved with a simple, bladed weapon; a dagger, sword, or halberd are all suitable options, but in order to kill the main feature, one must deliver a severe blow at the Monstera’s core – this means getting close enough to leave an incendiary device at its heart or if one happens to have a flamethrower to hand, this will also do the trick (Provided you have already dealt with the heads!) One additional note is that there is absolutely no point in using ranged weaponry as any and all projectiles will be detected by the vines and deflected.

If it hasn't fed in a while, the VM will release tiny bug-like spores referred to as ‘fae’ (these are similar in appearance to ghost moths) which will search for potential prey outside the perimeter of the lair and may even drift up to five kilometres away depending on the strength of the wind upon release. Once a source has been located, the fae swarm toward the soft, moist orifices of their target such as the nose or the mouth in an attempt to gain entry and take over the target’s mind. (It was initially believed that a victim’s ears would be another plausible entry point, but the fae appear to ignore these areas as the ear canal proves to be too complicated to negotiate.)

It is advised to wear a face mask which covers both the nose and the mouth when dealing with this entity, although bathing oneself in strong scents such as lavender, lemon or eucalyptus prior to interaction can also aid in discouraging the spores.

If the fae do find a way inside, then a victim must immediately retreat to a secure location and begin the Monstera Cleansing Procedure (MCP) or risk losing complete control of their motor functions.
Additional sources report that although the unfortunate subject is incapable of controlling their body, they are fully aware of what is going on around them and cannot do anything but watch helplessly as they walk themselves right into the belly of the beast.

Monstera Cleansing Procedure (MCP): If fae spores have entered the body, the victim must retreat immediately to a secure location and open their MCP pack, proceeding to flush out their sinus area with the saline rinse provided before imbibing the citrus 'fizzy' solution which is designed to break down the spore cells. If an MCP kit is damaged or unavailable, the victim must be restrained or prevented from leaving the secure containment area until the spores have deteriorated naturally (usually within 24/48 hours.)
