So I've still been spenting time trying to refine the style I'm going for before getting into some productive work. I was reading online and found a line that really stuck with me about how a good cartoon only uses the lines it needs to. So taking that towards the way I work I decided to try working with proper lines. Well not exactly, I blocked them as vectors because I couldn't quite get the stroke tools to look how I wanted. Beyond that just trying to simplify my anatomy and make it more distinctly cartoonish because looking back at last weekend's work I felt like it was sort of muddy. Spent a lot of time watching cartoons (I know, drudgery right?) to get ideas. Looking back I'm thinking going for a slightly thinner look. Steph is curvy but not too built-up like this picture. Anyhow, work going forward. I decided to change Steph's hair color because it was kind of boring. Armbinder because, what? I'm not going to shoehorn in a fetish?
