Okay look I do understand,
That poets often write something grand,
It's great, yes I can see,
But really, don't go on at me,
About it being a "masterpiece,"
"The depth to this will never cease,"
I mean, please, keep it real,
Not really such a big deal.
You think about it far too much,
Seriously don't make such a fuss,
Coz teacher you're getting out of hand,
It's only a poem about some sand.
Darlin' we've made so many notes,
That the true meaning can't connote,
I don't think poets write for school,
So please stop making poems so uncool.
And teacher, you know what?
Even I can write about a flowerpot,
So don't look into it quite so much,
You're going to lose sanity's touch,
Just leave it as it's meant to be,
A piece of art for you and me.
