Description This is a recoloured screenshot. I recoloured it by painting over the original which I then deleted when I had the new colours in place. Then it was a matter of refining and enhancing the painting as usual.

I really liked this screenshot but I wanted to recreate the brighter colours seen when Sephiroth first encounters Cloud rather than the dark and 'green' colouring this had. It was a lot of fun to do and I was really happy with how it turned out, but this is not one of my usual paintings done from scratch.

Sephiroth is not my creation he belongs to Square Enix.

I, can too, blurry a screenshot to let it look like a painting.
Ok, you can paint it over and delete the original like you said...
But sry, it's visibly NOT a painting. It's a screenshot just with a few filtres over it....

Hi Lucifers Choice,

First line, says 'This is a recoloured screenshot' and that I had painted over the original. I wasn't trying to hide anything. I did it for my own enjoyment - colouring-in so to speak, I found it relaxing. If other people like it - good for them.

Why do you have an issue with it?

As I said in another comment, I overread that fact.
SO I have to apologise
Normally I read every comment clearly, but this time I failed and blamed myself.

Actually, I'd like to thank you. When I was composing my reply to you I figured out what I've been doing wrong in my art. I'd tried to submit Sephiroth - Advent Children and my latest Sephiroth - 1st class soldier to Squeenix but they'd declined them. When I asked why, the person who replied (who is really good at realism art) told me I had the anatomy right and the faces looked good, but the composition and shading were not right. I could see the composition problem in 1st class soldier myself - the separate elements (arm, rest of body, elevator door) just didn't come together as a whole - they looked disjointed. Been wracking my brain for a couple of weeks now wondering why those elements didsn't work as a whole. Yesterday, I realised I'd been so focussed on the details and zeroing in on painting sections of the picture in isolation to each other, that I'd ignored one of the fundamentals - paint the details last and work on all sections of the picture simultaneously. So, sorry for the long reply; but thanks - I'd still be trying to work that out if you hadn't made me stop and think.

This is breathtaking, I love everything about it. I love him so much and he's stunning in AC/ACC but I've always had a grudge against the production team for the dark and gloomy light in nearly all his scenes. I get why they did it but still, he really did look best in bright daylight. If they'd kept his scenes bright most of the time, then so much detail could have been enjoyed... So yeah, you did an awesome job with this! Hehe, I wish that you could do the same work on all his sceenshots.

Glad you like it and yeah I thought it was a pity he was so dark in the movie.

I do have other paintings of him which you might like in my gallery (I've done four of them).
