"Oh no! It's Mothra!"I actually did this piece as a model to have around for another piece of Mothra done on the oekaki with some background. But since I thought that this turned out great I opted to post this one. Perhaps I'll still make that oekaki pic another time if I really get into it.
In the past I've kind of recented Mothra. As a kid I guess it was kind of normal that my boyish nature didn't find a giant moth manly enough the same way did with Godzilla. But now I have accepted her. I couldn't see the Godzilla franchise without her. She's an essential part of it. Besides, I kinda like butterflies nowadays. Perhaps it's because of her.

This is a very well drawn piece of art.
I noticed that the artist (and a bunch of people in the comments below) say they didn't like Mothra when they were younger because they deemed her too girly...
I guess I must be weird then...
Mothra has been my second favorite kaiju ever since I was a kid (only being topped by the King of Monsters himself).
This was likely due to a few things:
1) Beyond Godzilla and Mothra, I didn't know much about the kaiju universe.
2) Moths are my favorite insect just above Butterflies.
It wasn't until little over a month ago that I decided to actually read up about Mothra.
I figured by her design (and the fact she's the other playable kaiju in the Monster of Monsters NES game) she was probably a hero or at least not outwardly villainous like the other kaiju.
Speaking of... that's kind of how my interest in Godzilla got revitalized.
I watched Godzilla (2014) at home and got to see Shin-Gojira in the theatres.
But what really revitalized my interest in the series was an unlikely source...
Pixel Artist and Writer CosbyDaf's story on Godzilla Monster of Monsters (or Godzilla NES for short, I refuse to call it a creepypasta).
I can't even count how many times I've had listened to Goji's reading of it on YouTube whether listening with intent or just as background noise.
All said and done, this artwork is 10/10 and I'll definitely be on the lookout for your future pieces! :3

The very last Godzilla movie had a Mosura that was very wasp-like and fast.
But my most favorite monster has to be Batora (the "black" moth)

Some of my favorite versions of Mothra are her first and second reincarnations from Rebirth of Mothra 1 & 2.

Very nice work on Mothra, and yeah, when I was a kid I couldn't stand her either, and while she's still not my fave kaiju, I recognize she's important to the Godzilla universe & she has her moments.

Yup. Dismissed her for being too girly. But I guess that's why she appeals to japanese women. Women like butterflies. So I guess if you want to impress a girl you could talk to her about butterflies. Idk.
