Overall, this is an absolutely beautiful and stunning painting! The image of the prowling tiger is something that will most often strike a chord with nature lovers, and can be used as a powerful metaphor on its own.

However, as the artist requests critique, I,ll oblige! While the colours are striking, and the composition does offer some contrast, I feel it's a little lacking. The tiger itself occupies such a large space, and is mostly of the same colour, so some of the more important details feel a little lost to me. I personally feel a particular attention and importance should have been paid to the eyes; they seem a little dull and the attention isn't really drawn to them at all.

As most of the painting is some tone of orange, I would have suggested using maybe a deeper or darker orange overall, and maybe using more of a cooler, pale tone instead of stark white, or what seems to me white mixed in with orange/yellow.

That aside, despite being done with a palette knife, the attention to detail is amazing, and you can still feel the bristly nature of the fur and the ears seem perfectly touchable. Overall god work! The colour balance is was I would have worked on the most.

Please continue your amazing work!

I have to say that being a fan of your work, you have really taken your talents to a new level. The way you used a palette knife to create the tiger's fur is just amazing to see! The realism is just astound to be honest. It really looks like you just took a picture of a tiger instead of painting one. If this is your direction with animals, I for one am very much looking forward to see your future work regarding them. The only question I have is how long it took you to create this and how often does it take to dry. Wonderful work and way to go! Excellent!

This, is absoloutly gorgeous. The use of coloration, tone, and shading is unlike anything I had ever seen in my life. That way it all puts together with the tone-changing background as well as the tiger itself. Even with a much whitened background, you can still see its whiskers and small details tying together into a large picture. But in the future I do suggest adding a little of a softer tone in some large areas. Its almost lifelike , I had mistaken it for a photography piece the first time I laid my eyes on it! You attained a wonderful talent, cherish it for the rest of your life and continue to bring blank spaces to life.

Your work with the palette knife is really, unparalleled. You show skill in every painting you do, and I'm glad to see each one. I love your uses of the orange/honey tones, and the black and gray. I love how well defined the stripes upon the face are. I love the detail of the whiskers, just scratches in the paint. But there is one thing I think is a little off. The chest of the Tiger is a little off when it regards the tiger's front leg. He doesn't look quite right in that regard. But other than that. This is an amazing animal and you have done it justice. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Love this painting I'm mostly a comic book writer/artist, but I also just love landscapes and wildlife/animal pieces. As well as portraits which I am considering doing on the side.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see an animal portrait from you. The tiger is a majesty of both beauty and ruthlessness. I only just watched the new Jungle Book film and I think it's Shere Khan that encapsulates this piece (correct me if I'm off). I'd love to see you do more animals (particularly big cats). 😺

Whoa! I didn't know you did animals too, I'm so used to seeing the coloured landscapes! I think this looks absolutely gorgeous! I'd love to see how you'd do paintings of birds!
