The one thing is that the sky looks a little too textured, and while the tree branches look like they closing over the streetlights, the tree trunk looks a bit too far away for that.

First, all your paintings are really beautiful. I'm pretty new to painting but I'm taking a class this semester where we're working with oil paints. I have a few questions if you're willing to answer; I can see the palette-knife strokes but how did you create the long lines (e.g. the sidewalks)? Is the paint very thick? Did you allow it to dry before placing on the next color on the street, or how did you avoid blending?

The bright reflections on the wet street and the play of light from the streetlamps are just stunning! I love how the colors and bold strokes give the piece a robust but minimized sense of detail. The colors are so jarring that I completely missed the woman in white holding the umbrella on the sidewalk until I looked at it quite a few times. . . was that intentional or am I just oblivious? XD Anyway, wonderful work!
