Description
This picture went through a few transformations. Firstly, I figured I should draw a character from Frank Herbert's 'Dune' book series. I even watched a lot of video's to get an idea, since I'd never looked into this before. But I'll be honest, these books are really complicated and there was too much to wrap my head around, hopping back and fourth between choosing one aspect or character to try. Second time around, I got the idea to draw a landscape of sand dunes, with a kid sat reading a 'Dune' book. Perfect, I thought! Ultimately, however, I realised I much preferred how the image was looking without any figures. I haven't drawn enough environments on their own and trying out the dot method of rendering the sand made it more satisfying to complete.
