I think that this art is very successful. You had your own views on it and it came out with a believable and cute pose.
One thing i do want to point out is that note where your light is coming from. your lighting is very cute and cartoony so i'm not criticizing it too much but do make sure to focus on the things such as that.
The anatomy is great and i loved how you incorporated the hooves into hands. It brings a whole new aspect to it.
The effects such as the smoke was created beautifully. it looks wispy and smoky. It isnt too realistic to where it does not match your art style and it shows the heat coming off of the cup quite well.
Take note of deer anatomy as well. their legs are quite thin though i do think it would look quite weird with thin legs heh. But just note anatomy and make sure that people can understand what you're drawing.
Other than that i think this piece came out great!! Good Job!!
