Description Meet The Immortal Sissy Jenkins, ahroun from the Black Furies in Werewolf: the apocalypse. She's a serial killer who uses her bow to kill abusers who aren't punished by justice. In Greek mythology, the Furies punished domestic violence, and she's taking that role very seriously.
Oh, and she's also a darkwaver and loves Diary of Dreams. I loved drawing the leather corset.
Hope you like her!

You have put so much texture and value detail into the clothing that I wonder why you—perhaps purposefully—left the skin shadowless.

You’ve created a striking contrast in values, but the light making the reflections appear on her leather(?) wouldn’t realistically escape her physique.

Since you appear to be drawing stylized reality (rather than creating a graphic design) you might consider not selectively excluding the effects of light.

The light that appears to be falling on her hair would also create other shadows on her head and face and particularly under her nose and neck.

Granted, for this style of drawing, these kind of details could inappropriately “age” the character’s face if overdone.

Thanks! This is very good advice. I leave the faces white as a stylistic choice of sorts though I've been considering lately if this is actually appropriate or looks good.

I noticed that while persuing your gallery—after I wrote the critique—and presumed that it was a choice you’re making.

But seeing that you draw clothing and hair textures with values well, I wonder if you’re avoiding drawing the light’s effect on faces and bodies out of fear or laziness. For a visual artist, neither is ultimately fulfilling.

If you maintained the dead line drawing with no values across an entire piece, it would be less obvious that you’re purposefully avoiding the work.

From experience, I know it’s easier to manifest what’s in your head than to reproduce and stylize the reality in front of us, but what is there to lose in trying?

I have some pieces like this one where I put some shading into the skin but it's not my first choice. It doesn't have anything with lazyness though it might have something to do with fear. Not that I don't think I can't do it but that I like the current lines and I don't want to ruin them with shading if that makes sense.

I definitely understand liking a piece as is. Still working on, It’s done.

She's cute but stern! I love the leathery top, and her short hair, nice drawing!

Stern is the word. She's a rather no nonsense person.

Husband you say? Last time we spoke (crikey that must've been months ago, i've only just double checked my Inbox) it was boyfriend. So you two have tied the knot now? HUGE CONGRATS! Can't believe I missed any news or updates (then again, it has been hard for me to really want to be online lately).

Actually, regarding our last discussion; do you remember you said you'd send me a PDF of 'Reign of Winter' for me to print and read in my own time because I struggle with reading on a digital support? I've - much to my shame - just realised I never responded to that offer. If you can do that, that would be fantastic! It could take some time before I'm actually in a position to print it (sad to say my living situation hasn't changed), but I would be grateful if you can send my a link in a Note.

I got married in May, though I didn't make it public. We've been living together for a few years already so it wasn't a big change.

Here you can download the 2 first story arches:

I will send you the last one once I compose it.
The formatting is rather terrible and the first chapters are rather poorly written but it gets a little better once I get more confident.

Thanks so much! I have to say that I didn't put as much effort as I usually do on her hair.

Very impressive! The hair is superb again, as is the leather corslet. Plus her shoulders and armes look very realistic!

Thanks so much! I wanted her to have strong arms because she's an archer and she does a lot of arm exercise.

A werewolve archer is somwhat unusual, but cool!

LeilaAscariz In reply to Panartias [2019-08-25 09:45:21 +0000 UTC]

It is! She has a spiritual weapon that is a bow and it changes to adapt to her current form (in the two forms that don't have arms it just melds with her body). It fires silver arrows so she's deadly to other werewolves.

I could see a nitpicking GM have problems with a bow with silver projectiles melting into her form...
...but she is such a cool character!

Very nice, I like the details on the leather and her arm band. You did a really good job of making her corset look shiny.

LeilaAscariz In reply to jonwassing [2019-08-24 16:50:22 +0000 UTC]

I love drawing black leather gear almost as much as I love drawing hair. I guess I still keep some abilities from my times as a goth/metalhead (who am I kidding? I'm still a metalhead)
The arm band is made of arrowheads. At first I wasn't going to add the leather under them but I thought: dammit, that sounds very uncomfortable to wear.
