Why is this powerpuff girl (straightedge) Political?I explain: the Straight-edge refers to a philosophy that's most basic tenets promote a drug free lifestyle. It developed as an offshoot of the punk rock/hardcore scenes of the early 1980's when the term itself is believed to have been coined by Ian Mackaye, in the self titled song, while he was the singer of the seminal hardcore band, Minor Threat. Mackaye eschewed the nihilistic tendencies of punk rock, promoting instead the simple (almost simplistic) philosophy of "don't drink/ don't smoke/ don't fuck."
This is the reason for this wallpaper is not in the cartoon section!

This one is great.
I know the Straight-edge philosophy but i think i donΒ΄t beleave in "...I donΒ΄t fuck!" but... make love? I donΒ΄t understand.
Because if the Straight-edge philosophy is "don't drink/ don't smoke/ don't fuck (but i make love)"... i can agree with this. But if it is just "don't drink/ don't smoke/ don't fuck." i donΒ΄t beleave in this words because i donΒ΄t think that Straight-edge people do all of this things.

I like the image and I think it was well done, but I dont enjoy the philosophy. The movement was very violent when it first started. It was just ignorant to leave a decent idea on the punk generation who took it to extremes that made it hypocritical. The fact of the matter is, if you do drugs and in no way harm anyone but yourself, then there is no harm in it. I think its good for people to stay away from hard drugs, but all too often people's views on drugs, especially pot, is very askew. Marijuana is not horrible for a person, and if used with ventilators, it is completely safe. Ideas and philosophies are good to have, but watch out and never take them too far if they are somethign as minor as this.
