Description You know how people always do those human pose references that show the basics of the body in various poses? Well, I decided to do one for my H. unlikelus as well, because why not? This is mostly just a mental dump of possible future poses for these guys. I also wanted to mess around with various ideas I've had for pterosaur poses in general, like how they would sit or lie down. Seriously, when's the last time someone's drawn a sitting pterosaur? Anyways, more male bias this time around, but the females are basically the same, just make the crest shorter, add longer pterofuzz to the back of the head, and make the form overall smaller.

Most of the poses are based off of parrot behavior (Shoutout to my special science partner Quirky the lovebird). From what I've seen, parrots and corvids are both very expressive creatures, even without fancy facial muscles. It pains me so much for cartoons and animations giving non mammals facial expressions. They don't have the musculature to do so! I hope with this project that I can prove that you don't need animals to be overly antropomorpised to be relatable, such as giving them human expressions or mannerisms. Heck, I'd like to completely abolish the humaniod is bestist body mentality while I'm at it. The human form is not the only form!

Row 1: Normal standing, sitting, basic flight pose, crouching, and (slightly below that because it's kind of squeezed between the 1st and 2nd row) basic flight pose (dorsal).
Row 2: "I'm to fancy 4 u" (possible threat or mating display, possibly even part of a social dance), threat posture, preening stomach, and standing upright with head up.
Row 3: Punching (could also be reaching out), perched sleeping, hanging upside down, and preening armpit with wing raised.
Row 4: Crouched in a drinking pose, flight takeoff, crouching while looking over it's shoulder, and sitting and reading.
Row 5: Mounted on a domesticated spearbeak, [their version of] karate kicking, standing with head cocked to the side (curious), standing holding MOTHEREFFEN KATANAS, and standing while looking behind itself.

This made me smile; some of those poses are so adorably goofy! I almost want to take a crack at drawing these guys myself, but my anatomy skills are shit.

Glad I could make you smile

Hey, tbf their anatomy is already pretty ridiculous to begin with. I actually had to make a clay model to make sure I could get the angles right.
