Description Ninja-edit: Noticed I made a mistake in the Crystal typing. Should be fixed now.

(Alright folks, take a shot every time I say the word "type" here.)

So I recently created a new folder in my gallery for the new wave of Fakemon artwork I've been submitting, and as I was working on the text for the folder, I noticed that the description was really messy from the makeshift type chart I had there. So I thought, "why not just make a clean version and upload it separately?". And so I did!

While the charts are pretty straightforward, there are some things I need to note:
>While Spirit is super effective against/resists all types, I excluded it from the five main charts, as A) there wasn't enough room, and B) it just looks messy otherwise
>Likewise, the Spirit type chart says "all" in the match-ups, but it technically should say "all except Spirit", as the type is immune to itself.
>Yes, the Shadow type is super overpowered, but this is due to the fact that it essentially acts as a "boss type" and ties into the main story.
>Shadow Pokemon seen in Colosseum and XD are a separate thing from Shadow type Pokemon, although they are related (see text below)

The color of the center column is important, and signifies the following:

Purple indicates an "elemental" or "special" type. Elemental types are types that typically have to do with something energy or magic related. These types are consistent with the old "special" types prior to gen IV.
These types are , , , , , , , , , and Cosmic (10 types total).

Background blue indicates an "earthly" or "physical" type. Physical types are typically more "earthly" than elemental types, having to do with something physical or ordinary (except in the case of ghost, which is mostly classed as physical to keep the categories balanced). These types are consistent with the old "physical" types prior to gen IV.
These types are , , , , , , , Crystal, , and (10 types total).

Light blue indicates a "higher" type. These types are distinct from the previous two classes in that they do not occur naturally; Pokemon must be be granted them (or in the case of Glitch types it kind of grants itself through corruption of the DNA). It is very rare for entire species to be granted these types, only occurring if an entire species of pokemon dedicates itself to following a specific one (or, again, some kind of unnatural alteration or "glitch" within the affected Pokemon). It is much more common for individuals to be granted higher types, in which they either become "true" Shadow Pokemon, or Light Pokemon. A Pokemon has to be completely willing to be granted with one of these types, so Pokemon cannot be forced into it (otherwise it fails, as in the case of the "shadow" Pokemon from Pokemon Colosseum and XD). Once a Pokemon's type has been changed, it cannot be lost, although it can be suppressed for a short while either though certain moves or special abilities. Once granted, it then overrides the primary type (dual typed Pokemon), makes the primary type secondary (singular typed Pokemon), or in the case of Normal typed Pokemon, replace it entirely. The Pokemon still has the original suppressed type within its DNA and generally retains the physical characteristics it gives, but any type advantages or disadvantages are lost. This includes weaknesses, resistances, immunities, and STAB.
These types are Glitch, Shadow, and Light (3 types total).
Glitch types occur through unnatural corruption of the host
Shadow types are granted by Shadogaire
Light types are granted by the Trinity Trio

Golden/yellow indicates the "divine" type, Spirit. Only three pokemon have this type; Arceus, Jeruseus, and Nahatoa, and the they only have this type in their Gospel forms. The Spirit type is believed to be the original type in which all others were created from, and as such it has no weaknesses, is resistant to all types, super effective against all, and is resisted by none. It is also immune to itself. Moves of this type can only be wielded by Spirit type Pokemon, and they cannot be reflected or wielded via Metronome, Assist, Me First, Mirror Move, etc.

And um... yeah, I think that's it. Feel free to use the icons here, after all many others have convergently come up with the same type concepts. Enjoy

Thank God your not the only one who remembered the shadow type from Pokémon DX

And Colosseum, can't forget Colosseum! But yeah, the concept needs to be explored more for sure. Yet another cool thing Pokemon introduced that was quickly forgotten for other, stupider things...
