Don't worry, I think your skills are OK for the trade. Also, your characters would be pretty different from the ones I often draw, so I guess it will be a good way to improve for both of us

Yes, it's a burn, and it covers only the surface you see there, on his right side. Also, his right hand is a wooden prothesis, but he often covers it with a black glove like in the picture.
