Description Just a doodle while waiting for a friend to get her allergy shots. This was drawn on less toothy printer paper, which led to a great ability to make soft shading, but was crap when it came to getting very dark values - I really had to press hard (while not breaking the lead) to get anything resembling a value close to black, hehe. I kind of like this guy, though, and the completely imagined skeleton was fun as well.

Also, horizontal canvas flip for some visual kick XP The real-life orientation is the image on the bottom.

Mechanical .05 2B pencil, ~30 minutes

I love that this is 'just a doodle'. Bet anyone who looked over your shoulder was in awe.

Haha - funny that you mention people looking over my shoulder in this situation; there was a 14-year old boy (I only know his age because he stated it while talking to his parents) who for a minute kept whispering to his parents 'she's really good!' XP *laughs* Thanks, Ark : D

Kids can be kind of neat (:

You're welcome!

I suppose - this kid seemed more annoying to me. XP (He was constantly pestering his parents and talking about random things out loud that you don't typically hear, and to be honest didn't seem to act like a typical 14-year old. Either that or he was just hyper, I don't know) I tend to get a bit annoyed with younger people, though, even if it's unwarranted, so I'm a bit biased.

Haha, most 14 year olds I meet either know everything or commit some other social sin that makes me want to shoot them. I'm not a young people person, or a child person.
Hhaaha, so I guess I totally understand your frustration (:

I'm seriously wondering if there is some neurological switch that's turned on at the age of 15-18 that makes you realize that you don't know everything...but until then, I know I was an arrogant little git too, most specifically with dragons (of course!). Oh, partially developed adolescent brain and your delusions of grandeur.

I was just a shit, haha. I think going to India is what changed me forever, and for the better, when I was 15/16.
But I know people who are well into their twenties who are just as bad as 13 year olds.

Makes me want to punch them.

Oh goodness, hehe! I often wonder what people might say to me, and I anticipate weird looks if I'm just doodling something 'unorthodox', but yeah - I have yet to get career advice, though!

most common things i hear is, "you should be a tatoo artist" and "what about pencil skecthing for the police?"

Ive had several people want to keep my various sketches to have in their homes.

I use to bowl in a league and inbetween turns i would sometimes doodle various things -_-

Oh goodness - that's a lot better than what I was thinking! I was thinking that you were getting the negative, 'don't quit your day job'-type 'career advice'. Much more positive! : ) I remember being told that I'd make a good tattoo artist myself from random people, but I don't draw out in public as much anymore.

in highschool word got around i was good at art i use to carry my pieces from class to class after art to take home. I got tired of people pulling me over in the hallways to see it so on the cover page i started drawing crappy scribbles and showing them that instead.

Sooner or later i null'd the rumor quite nicely and less and less people approached me in the halls O_O

Haha! That's priceless XD If I had to make that choice, I'd be too lazy and fearful of lying if I did that, but then again I'm thinking of it in my high-school years context where I much more afraid of people judging me. XP

To be honest, I had no intention of completing this sketch at all, but now that you say something about it, I might just go and finish it after all. Thank you!

Well there was a few things i wanted to point out. That i thought might be benefitial. But then i figured those were things someone would fix as they finish the piece, and its really hard to say anything at all when you dont know how the end product will turn out!

But its really nice.
