This deviation really caught my eye; first one I saw on the critique page. The sepia tone with the dramatic shadows is very attractive. It adds a vintage effect, like from the 1940's. Very eerie also. The contrast is excellent, also. I love the subject with the children's backs toward me. It makes me very curious to why they're on the beach, what they're looking at, or what they're waiting for possibly. I would really like to know the story behind this artwork. And I anticipate to see more like this from the artist. Absolutely nothing wrong with this piece.

First thing that comes to your mind "Gosh! so thoughtful!" The pretty little human figures are what captured my attention first. But gradually the whole subtle environment, the seemingly endless horizon, the depth and the perfectness kept me glued to the piece. The whole environment speaks so much about it! It really is worth more than thousand words!! I would like to give perfect 5 stars for vision and technique. Though on originality i reduced half a star just because the similar concept was tried by other artists. Très beau et très signifiant! Le futur a toujours été cette Terre mystérieuse qu'on ne peut conquérir ou à laquelle on ne peut accéder ni dans l'espace, ni dans le présent. C'est la terre des rêve et de l'espoir que le présent voit arriver ou s'écrouler. Enfants, nous en rêvions comme d'un Eldorado de tous les possibles et puis la roue du temps a moulu et égrené nos rêve en cette fine poudre de la réalité que le vent a dispersé. Mais pour nos enfants et nos petits-enfants, nous nous remettons à rêver pour eux un ailleurs meilleur. Je trouve que cette photo est une magnifique réflexion sur le sent de ce futur pous nous et pour les enfants ( que nous avons aussi étés ).

Absolutely stunning. The sky is beautiful and emotional. The overall composition is very well thought out. There's a lot of feeling in this.

I love this peice - it's mesmorizing and I love how the clouds in the sky draw the viewer in as if they're racing away from the children. I also love the vintage feel and the mystery of the turned backs. BEAUTIFUL.

I see you've posted it in darkroom/ digital - did you just tweak it digitally, (contrast, tone, etc), or is it more than that?

The levels were adjusted for the sky and the hairs of the boy, a little more contrast and the sepia tonality of course.
