There's quite a few carriage rides to be had in the French Quarter. I saw plenty of horse drawn carriages and then there was this mule drawn carriage.

This particular equine looked so pitiful. Maybe it's because it was cold or because he was tired and wanted to call it a day. Or maybe it's because he was wearing flowers and all his friends were laughing at him (I'm assuming the mule is a guy otherwise my tepid attempt at a joke doesn't work).

Don't listen to them, Mr. Mule. They're just jealous.

I would like to add that I didn't see a single mule or horse mistreated during my short stay. I would also like to share with you this tragic, yet inspiring story about a horse owner that risked his life to save his steeds during Hurricane Katrina: story[link]
