Description
It is rare to have an opportunity to safely observe these creatures in the wild, so when I encountered one asleep beneath one of the breaks in the canopy, I wasted no time in studying it. The body is covered in distinctive teardrop shaped markings, and the 2 above the eyes on the female give an almost sorrowful appearance. They have a single long claw that they use to impale the tendons and organs of their prey. It is rumored that they cut out and devour the heart of any humans they kill, but this is not true; they only cut out the liver and stomach before moving on the rest of the meal. Switchclaws spend long periods of time lounging in sunspots near their nests, and even on the hunt move with an almost careless gait. Upon my closer inspection, the female I was observing awoke and (thankfully) fled after taking a few careless swipes in my direction. I found two soft shelled white eggs buried beneath the tree. Why was this one so protective of its eggs? Most go to great lengths to guard their young. This dragon's subspecies is drake, as shown by their horn structure and lack of wings.

Quick basic dragon facts:
Dragon bones are hollow. This in necessary for their ability to fly. They have interlocking scales that can serve as an exoskeleton to compensate for these weak bones.
Dragon fire is actually a liquid sprayed from a special set of teeth in a fine mist and ignited by sparks from an electrical organ in their mouths, though some use methane gas.
dragons communicate using subsonic or hypersonic frequency, but some humans can hear or produce these sounds.
