Description High overhead a handful of ships cruised beneath the hot Bomuran sun. The streets were considerably more populated with beings from dozens of worlds tending to their own business whether that meant negotiating spaceflights or simply standing by and waiting for opportunity.

Strolling down a sun-baked street, Nod and Taina headed towards a meeting with most important people in the secluded spaceport. As if aware of the vital nature of their visit, eyes turned to the pair whenever they'd pass someone in the streets, and that didn't go unnoticed by the young Rebel officer.

"Is it just me, or are we drawing an unusual amount of attention?" Taina asked her partner.

"Believe me, it's only you," Nod replied, casting a momentary smile toward the human, "I've not landed here in months, and you're a new face. We're only being sized up. As long as you don't come off as nervous then you won't have to worry about anything."

Resisting the urge to look behind her despite the feeling of eyes staring at the back of her head, Taina focused her attention elsewhere, away even from the formidable gun a local hunter was propping up.

"And what should I worry about?" she asked.

"If you know then you'll just act more jittery," the Twi'lek chided, "I would have expected an officer like you would be a little calmer in situations like this. How many battles have you been in?"

"Battles are different," Tain corrected him, "We know the odds, we can pick and choose when and how we encounter an enemy. But this is outside of my element. I don't know who might be here, and to tell the truth, I have a bad feeling about this."

The very idea brought a skeptical twist to Nod's mouth. "What's to feel bad about?" he asked, "Nothing's going to happen here. We're completely safe."

"Thanks, Nod. Now I know we're in trouble."

Really quite a scene.

I do get those kind of feelings before though.

They're not too uncommon when wandering through a strange, new place.

I really, really love this one. You've captured the shadiness of the town in perfection and made it look lively at the same time.

Awesome work Vi!

Thanks much! The whole time I was wondering if I should cram more people or aliens or droids or whatever in there. So I'm really happy to know that it's got the right feel.

Sorry, had to, had to. It had to happen. I'm so sorry.

You guys are creating a smashing series so far. Calls back Star Wars ANH fantastically. Well written, well rendered. I have absolutely no complaints. Love that sinister looking dude hiding around the corner.

Very funny, Mr. Funny-man!

Many thanks, too. I definitely want that 70s and 80s feel, so that's a huge compliment. Sadly, though, Jamie's not been able to help with the Star Wars stuff since "Dodgers, Scramble," and I've been picking up the writing here.

You stepped waaaaaaaay back on this one!

I really applaud that you did this, i know how it can be hard while working on these to draw so much space even when that's EXACTLY the point of the image. o _O

Very strong atmosphere here..... I could tell from the thumbnail and the title what was going on, but that unsettling skepticism is on point, riiiiiight in her eyes. And not to mention the bitter glares from the locals....

This is fantastic, Vio. Great addition

This one demanded a wider scope given the setting and the claustrophobic feel of the ship-based pictures I've done. The trick was filling the picture with stuff.

And in hindsight, it also seems kind of funny to get a suspicious, sinking feeling in a bright, sunny street. But I guess if George could pull that off back in '77 it's not so weird to do the same now. Grazie mille, amico.

But you chose the right fillers, namely the angle you presented it so you have more ways to show these native skeptics and they're "i don't take kindly to foreigners" sneers.

Suspicious? Not at all, i would argue. It's, unfortunately, way too common even nowadays for a lot of locals in a crowded street to look down their nose at the obvious tourist. Happens in my city a lot, and vice versa when i'm out of town. lol
