The first one looks more lively.
Going down, the image gets paler and paler.
It's like she is slowly fading away

Not bad, not "perfect" but not a "fail". This experiment simply proves that manga-cartoon style ultimately is not realist at all, and it can't ever be even if you try. The result is always a bit alien-eyes (you're not the first, think about FF-Advent Children film).
But as a paint, I like it, very personal. I prefer the first one, due to light gives her face volume.

Well, it is a beautiful and compelling piece nevertheless. But if you do want more realism, try making her eyes smaller. Your painting technique is excellent, of course, but the eyes maybe what's making non-realistic.
