Multiple reasons. The first was that I make Shadow really pale, since he's never in the sun. So Spirit was originally just a bit tanner then the others. The second was, while I was working on pics of him, I kept making him darker and darker, till one pic, I went really, really dark, and I loved the idea.
Third: He wears all white, and white clothes look best over dark skin. Or brides. Which he is not.
Finally, I have two logical, in world, explanations that I came up with so that his skin tone made since: One, Din really likes dark skin tone, so she decided to made him dark. And two Spirit's core is made up of light. So it is pretty much like he is constantly standing in the sun, and he actually gets darker as he ages. Like my Muse says: "He's cooking from the inside out!"
Thanks for asking!

(I can see it in my head~! XDDD were you able to get into the googledoc, by the way? It's big and laggy, so I'm seriously considering splitting it into segments... It's hard to edit like this.)
