I really quite like this one, perhaps better than the other that I have already critiqued. The continuity here speaks very clearly to me, and the hatching seems more consistent. For ballpoint pen, the likeness is pretty spot on, though i do wonder if you sketch something first before you grab for the pen. I feel like as far as refining goes, that could be helpful for a more finished piece. That being said, ballpoint pen is so very helpful for learning to work around mistakes, something I've had the luxury of ditching by using a computer sketch program in my work.
This piece does, however, have less of an impact on me. Technically, it is more thought out, but visually, I don't think it has the same effect as the forced perspective one does. However, the rule of thirds here is more prevalent, and that's always pleasing.
My feeling is, if I were being truly nit-picky and really looking for perfection, the values in the hair could be much, much darker. There's a lot of movement in his hair, which is good, but There's something missing. It reads a little scribbly, which is good, but not as refined as it could be if you were to take the time to really darken up those blues in certain places, bringing out the highlights even more. Bonus points if you can even maintain the contrast between the hair and the dark shadows of the shirt!
Again, overall, an awesome likeness and really cool piece. And really cool medium. I always love ballpoint pen.

Thanks again so much..He was my second drawing..but i like him the most i think..The other one was really hard and took a lot longer to do this this drawing..about 18 hrs all said and done..i tryed to take longer and take my time.. but i think i over thought a lot of it instead of just letting go like i did the this one..I'm going to do one more of the old Jack will be starting it real soon tonight..So thanks so much again..and I'm glad you like him..

Overthinking can be a real problem...but I guess that comes with practice too? I can't say exactly, as I run into that problem all the time! Hopefully we can both overcome that obstacle! Keep up the good work!
