Vainë met Lumil outside a crowded tavern.She have tried to rob him using her innate magical talent to convince others to do what she wants, she could not have known that Vainë was a powerful wizard.
The small Lumil until then had lived on the streets, along with other lost children, but saw her talent Vainë decided to take her with him and teach her how to use magic(art for which she seemed to be much scope).
