After all these other ladies I've submitted, I couldn't leave India out of all this. They INVENTED the sari!

What made this sari especially easy was the circle-design I found for the costume, since India has a blue wheel-like symbol in the center of their flag.

There's actually a lot of cool facts about India. Like it's so big, that the entire subcontinent is sometimes just called "South Asia." Or the fact that over 700 languages are spoken there. It's also surprising just how many ethnic groups exist in India, & for thousands of years, it's been as much a genetic melting pot as the US has been for only 300.

There are also just as many landscapes there as there are people. They got beaches, plains, mountains, a gigantic triangular, raised portion of land called the Deccan Plateau, the Ganges Plain (named for 1 of the major rivers in India), river valleys, and the Himalayas. In fact, geologists believe that millions of years ago, India was a separate landmass that, through movement of plate tectonics; smashed into the Asian plate & created the Himalayas, which it still is doing even today. The highest mountains in the world still grow a few inches a year, which is pretty "fast" compared to some mountain ranges in the world.

Because of all the geological activity in the past millions of years, India is a major producer of diamonds, emeralds, gold, and many more precious stones/metals. In fact, several famous jewels came out of India, such as the Koh-i-nor diamond, the Star of India, & the Hope Diamond.

India is also famous for boasting the largest storm system on earth for half the year: the Summer Monsoon. (Other nearby countries in Southeast Asia & Indonesia also have monsoon seasons). For half the year, India experiences the Winter Monsoon, where the weather is very dry & the wind blows off the subcontinent out over the Indian Ocean. Then, in the summer, warm, moist winds blow clouds heavy with rain out over India. The last few days before the summer monsoon are usually difficult, due to it being hot & clouds hanging in the sky, but not giving any rain. Once the rains fall, the people celebrate another year of water & a break from the summer heat, and it rains almost continuously until early fall.

Several interesting cultural items were invented in India, such as chess, the number zero, advanced forms of math such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus; and in more recent history, it's been producing a major pool of scientists & engineers.
