Wife and mate of King Bittercold, Queen Astral Dusk seems as fragile like a withering leaf lying helplessly on the ground, but she is not completely defenseless. Astral Dusk was born as a second daughter to Keselth the Firestarter and Paranth from the Forestsilk Clan. From an early age, Astral Dusk was sickly, and so her parents deemed her too pitiful to deserve attention. Her older sister Fyzsal, on the other claw, was cherished and pampered endlessly, making Astral Dusk feel dejected.

She met her future husband, Bittercold, when she was sent by her mother to fetch some clothes for her sister. However, since she had turned very introverted due to being ignored at her home, she couldn't even tell him her name. A few nights later, she was kidnapped by a group of drakes who held a grudge against her father. Astral plucked strands of her hair and let them fall to the ground, hoping that somedragon would notice it, even though she was sure her family would care less.

She was rescued by Bittercold, who took her home; on the way back, she finally gathered the courage to speak, and asked him how he found her. Bittercold replied that he had gone to her courtyard to try and see her, but saw strands of her hair lying on the ground, like a trail. He then told her he always found her hair beautiful, even though she hated it. She fell in love with him since that moment.

After the kidnap attempt, her parents became more attentive and loving to their youngest daughter, but they still favored Fyzsal over her. When the time came for Bittercold to choose a future wife, King Serelath and Queen Boreal Blizzard made a ball in which all single dradies were required to attend so Bittercold could choose one.

Astral Dusk was taken along with her sister, despite their parents' belief that Bittercold would be more likely to fall in love with Fyzsal, due to the latter's more attractive looks. Much to everydragon's shock, Bittercold chose to dance with Astral Dusk, no one else, and declared to his father he had found his soulmate.

After this, and the revelation that Fyszal had already lost her virginity, things changed in the household. Astral Dusk was cherished and attended by Keselth and Paranth even more, while Fyzsal lost all favor with her parents and was deemed a disgrace due to having premarital relation.

A few years later, after King Serelath's death and when Bittercold became old enough to ascend to the throne, he and Astral Dusk married and had their first egg after three months. However, Astral Dusk's proneness of getting ill remained, despite her husband's devoted caring of her.
