(explanation if I have not said it;
in this classic cyberpunk-urban fantasy verse, a Ghoul is a (meta)human infected by an 'Awakened' (magical) virus, who mutate you quite... for the rest of your lives now, you will look like a sick thing, your mind if not broken will be quite impacted probably and you WILL need to survive to eat some... metahuman flesh daily. That is teh suck, chummer; in earlier days, there was (and there may still be in places0 bounties to... take care of ghouls, at least them gone 'feral'.)

also I believe, they loose eyesights due to the virus (but they have a great sense of smell and all that...) and (albeit not sure) become 'dual antured' - magical mystical kinda, an aura note for mages...
