I made it monochromatic with just sporadic splashes of color, which is how Of Monsters and Men's videos often are, like in
King and Lionheart: [link]

Tried to tell the song's story without words, here's a lyric by lyric-image by image explanation:

1. Jumping up and down the floor: I thought it would be referring to a a little kid running around acting wild, and the mom would be calming him down by reading a story. The book is green and stands out, since its what brings us to the story.

2. My head is an animal- mom's as mad as an animal

3. And once there was an animal- same expression as the mom, tried to make it look Of Monsters and Menish

4. It had a son who mowed the lawn

5. the son was an okay guy- smiling and wiping brow after hard work

6. They had a pet dragonfly- again, I'm making the dragonfly stand out, since he's whats bringing the story

7. The dragonfly it flew away

8. But it came back with a story to tell- dragonfly's mouth is open

9. Her Dirty paws and furry coat- the animal was referred to as an "it", so I thought being referred to as a "her" indicated a human form. Her gloves and back of coat are whats most visible

10. She ran down the forest slope- trees connect to the next scene

11. To the forest of the talking trees- tree's mouth is near the bottom, so its like there might be invisible nose and eyes further up

12. they used to sing about the birds and the bees- birds and bees introduced, they are peacefully frolicking and co mingling. I used all bird species found in Iceland, which is where the band is from

13. the bees had declared a war- bees with spears, flag and drums, queen bee pointing, I thought I'd leave some open sky above them so it looked like they were looking at something offscreen (the birds)

14. the sky wasn't big enough for them all- tree's make sky look small, birds are crowded and attacked by bee swarm

15. the birds they got help from below- follow bird's happy gaze, forest clearing is similar to the view in 14.

16. from Dirty Paws and the creatures of snow- mammals from Iceland, smiling thumbs up, looking at sky

17. And for a while things were cold- blizzard, done in just pencil, to make it more snowish looking

18. they were scared down in their holes- eyes peeking out, holes and bird house seen in 17

19. the forest that once was green- sun rising

20. Was colored black by those killing machines- sun at midday, tried to make machines look monster-like, like in King and Lionheart video

21. But she and her furry friends- ready for action pose

22. Took down the queen bee and her men- bees are 99% female, so I thought the use of "men" indicated a transform/reveal to human forms

23. And that's how the story goes- book form 1
