It's actually really peaceful, aside from the cold. You get a sense of touching something greater when you slow down and observe anything, but I think in winter, that feeling is much more easily achieved, because everything has slowed around you.

it was a lovely morning, but I have to say, i'm no fan of the snow.
I can see though that you might miss it if you grew up here
