kuromeru-panthar.deviantart.co⦠(Original from 2011)I would like to take a moment to address the insane Tigress/Po fans. First... Tigress has no canon boyfriend and Po is just "A FRIEND". She even says it in the movie. She doesn't want to see her "FRIEND" get hurt. She didn't say boyfriend, she didn't say love, she didn't even imply it. So, don't go on a tangent and tell me Tai Lung is dead. Because until Dreamworks says he's dead and gone there's still a possibility he's alive. Just as there is a possibility Lord Shen is still alive.
Why am I saying this? It's because the original and every pic after (Po and Viper pic) people come on saying, "He's dead." or "This isn't canon." Yes, this is not canon. Not even close, BUT neither is Po and Tigress. Since they are both Shoalin they would have to quit the Jade Palace, and the Furious Five in order for them to go out, and Po isn't going to quit... In Legends of Awesomeness he desperately didn't want to quit to get married to Lu Shi, but he was going to because when else is a man child going to find someone that's just as immature as he is. (And for you out there who dis-credit LOA because it doesn't feed your Tigress/Po fantasy...) In the 2nd movie Po says, "But I just got Kung Fu." He's not going to give up being the Dragon Warrior and Kung Fu just to marry some girl. Po has the mind of a 7 year old. So, he wants to be a kid, play hero, and live his dream. Sorry, but that dream doesn't include humping all over Tigress as so many people want. And Tigress lives, breathes, and loves being a warrior and leader of the Furious Five. She's not going to give up the only life she knows just to be with someone.

Better than what I could have done, you should be proud none the less. The original lineart (and now this) was my favourite piece of Tai Lung x Tigress on DA, heres not many, let alone as good as this

Hmm, yes, theres so much Dreamworks could have done with his character. I actually looked up Tai Lung in the Kung Fu Panda wiki and it says that they wanted Tai Lung to be the hero of his own story, hence the gold eyes, gold reflecting heroism.
Whilst he's still my favourite out of the two movie antagonists I don't think he's a villain; Shen is a villain, Tai Lung just had an unfortunate past and I can actually relate to him. In the end I think he just needed a cuddle

They both unfortunately had unfortunate pasts. Tai Lung was always being told that he would be the Dragon Warrior since he was very tiny. (So, it broke him when he wasn't allowed to be.) Sadly, for trying to touch something that wasn't his he was also imprisoned for life. (Harsh punishment for literally no real crime.)
Lord Shen was also unfortunate and tragic. The Soothsayer (who I keep saying was the real villain) told his family that he was evil and should be sent away. She kept mocking him (even in the movies) that he would be defeated by a warrior of black and white. It was her telling him that is why he went insane. He probably never would have tried to kill anyone if she hadn't filled his head with hate and darkness. (And since she can see the future she would have seen Thundering Rhino get killed by the cannon, and she said and did nothing. Which in my opinion is villainous.)
So, both bad guys of the Kung Fu Panda movies are sadly pawns of people who just played them for idiots and when they got mad and decided to take action they were labeled evil and had to be "destroyed". It's really sad and quite stupid for Dreamworks to make such wonderful characters only to throw them out like yesterday's garbage.

Exactly, it just wasn't fair for it to be drummed into him at such a young age. I feel it was fair for him to have a 'tantrum' shall we call it, and Shifu certainly didn't help matters by just going with Oogway.
With Shen...I must say I've never thought about the Soothsayer's role in this, you've really opened my eyes.

Yeah, I'd say Shifu made Tai Lung "evil" (even though he wasn't evil... He wanted what they had promised him since he was a child.). That's like saying to a little kid that they can help you make cake (or have candy, or something) in a while. And then hours pass and they sneak some candy... Really is that a jail-able offense? I think it was too harsh a punishment for the crime. (Trying to steal.)
So, Oogway saw darkness in Tai Lung. But he didn't see darkness in Po? I mean Po is the most lawless person I've ever seen. In the first movie he destroyed a whole pantry just punching through drawers instead of opening them. Stole Monkey's cookies, and disobeyed Shifu for not helping to evacuate the valley. (Of course everyone says that Tai Lung was coming... But I'm sure he could see the line of people leaving out of the front gate of the city... He didn't kill or hurt anyone. He would have had to pass by them since they got back so fast after the fight was over... So, really... How villainous is a villain who didn't kill anyone on the way to kill his master.) And I really don't believe he came back to kill Shifu. He wanted the scroll... He said that. If Shifu or idiot Po would have handed it to him. He would have been fine. Sure, he would have been really angry, but I don't think he would have killed anyone. It was Po taunting him and Shifu taunting him that made him fight. If they wouldn't have there probably wouldn't have been a problem. (Although, there wouldn't have been much of a dramatic ending... But Tai Lung joining the Furious Five would have been better than Po just doing an impossible move that he was never taught and "figured it out" what is he... Goku?)
For Lord Shen... Some really fun reading on that whole theory that myself and a friend came up with he goes on in detail about it. (He's a Tai Lung fan as well.

I wouldn't say "villain". Because Tai Lung is not evil at all. He just had a tragic past. Despite Master Tigress as my favorite character, I could not help but sympathetically feel close to Tai Lung and Lord Shen.

I never really say he was. But that's only what he was classified as. I've made many comments over and over in most of my journals defending Tai Lung. He had the potential to be the best "villain". (As they've classified him as.) Although, really he was misunderstood and he was punished for trying to get what was owed to him. Really, Po, is a bigger villain. He thinks he's helping, but he's actually not. I believe that Shifu deserved Tai Lung's wrath and anger. And he's not really a villain, because he never killed anyone on his way to the palace, and I'm more than sure he could see the masses leaving the palace as he was going to it... He could have killed them all and the Furious Five were no match for him before, so they wouldn't be able to stop him then. Especially, since they were all beaten and broken and limping along trying to evacuate the village. He could have murdered everyone, but he didn't. When he got to the palace... He asked for the scroll, before starting to fight with Shifu. If Shifu had given it to him... He may have been mad, or thought it was counterfit or a trick... But he taunted Tai Lung and then Po showed up acting like a douche waving the scroll around...
Everyone also claims that Po has awesome skills... But both Tai Lung and Lord Shen completely gave up before he "defeated them". Tai Lung was hitting like a kitten and he was beaten already. He beat himself, and he was finally succumbing to fatigue. Po, just did a cop out move that no one taught him. (It was a sloppy ending and it was a cop out to get rid of the big baddie.)
For Lord Shen he also wasn't truly a villain. He was also misunderstood. And the real bad guy in that movie was the Soothsayer. (Me and my friend have talked about this at length unrealfox.deviantart.com/journ⦠) She's the one who set everything in motion. Lord Shen would never have "turned evil" if she hadn't convinced his family that he was insane. He's a bird... He's weak compared to everything around with solid bones. He was looking to create a weapon that would help his family and his country. The Soothsayer cried to everyone that he was evil, and made a prophecy on him. So, according to her she knew everything that was going to happen. And if she hadn't stepped in and pulled Po from the water... He would have died, but... She can't be proven wrong (big God complex on her...) she helped Po and at the end fight with Lord Shen... Lord Shen also gave up. (I don't technically believe he is dead since if something hits you on the water it usually just knocks you further underwater... It might hurt or knock you out, but I doubt seriously he was crushed by it.) But he looked up, closed his eyes, and gave up. Po never actually wins through skill or strength... BS wins, and sloppy writing helps him win. (Same with the lame TV show... He always wins because of sloppy writing.)
TLDR: I don't believe either one was ever a villain...Β Lord Shen was reclaiming his birthright and how many countries are taken by war? Tai Lung was also after what had been promised to him time and again...

I know what you mean. I never see those poor unfortunate souls (Tai Lung and Shen) as villains. They are just characters that have had a tragically misunderstood life. Many people who watch the movies have been always deceived by the antagonists' character. When I watch the movies and see Tai Lung and Shen, their back stories helped me out. They helped me learn to NEVER be deceived by their character, actions and ego therefore a warm heart and a sad, tragic and misunderstood soul is always found within. With patience, I understood their intentions.
And always, always, ALWAYS EVERY SINGLE TIME the movies reach the end, I always wind up thinking about Tai Lung and Shen. I do NOT know why.
Both, Tai Lung and Shen have found a way to pierce, sting and impale my heart. There was absolutely NO warning, NO time to defend myself, NO away to ignore, defy, deny and reject it and NO time for second thoughts.
Master Tigress will ALWAYS be my favorite character and she still WILL be therefore she is! Despite that, I could never help but feel close to Tai Lung, and Shen, listen and understand their stories and keep in touch with them. I love them so much as if they were my closest friends I never had or even my guardians. Especially one deviant named LordShen-Plz. He is one of my friends on this site, but he is much more special to me. To me, Shen is like my guardian angel after Mufasa (from The Lion King) who is also like my guardian angel and as well my godfather. Tai Lung on the other hand is like my bodyguard who would do whatever it takes to keep me safe.
That's how I always feel about Tai Lung and Shen. I love them both so much.

Yeah, for me,Β a possible plot for Kung Fu Panda 3Β is a Tai Lung's return for destroy the Valley of Peace and have revenge on Po.

some fans of KFP say that the DreamWorks Co. had planned SIX films for Kung Fu Panda, andΒ this makes KFP a "saga", isn't it? Okay, in your opinion, the DreamWorks Co. can REALLY do six films about Po's story? Or is just a rumour or a fake news?

A lot of the fans have latched on to the director's commentary in the very first movie. They said in that commentary that they had enough material for 6 movies, and then they laughed about it. Talking about how they would make six movies. It was a Star Wars joke reference. But fans take it as the gospel truth. Dreamworks has said in interviews and investor reports that this will be the last movie of the trilogy. The company keeps calling it a trilogy and that this movie will end the series. They released their movie plans for the next 6 years and Kung Fu Panda isn't part of it since it will be ending. But fans keep going on and their only source is the director's commentary from the very first movie and article interviews from 2008. Since 2013 the company kept calling it a trilogy, but for some reason fans just won't let go of the fact that a long time ago the very first director wanted to do six movies. (But he also wanted to have Tai Lung in all of them.) Dreamworks forced him to kill Tai Lung off at the end. That's why he didn't return to direct and they got Jennifer Yuun.
I would love to see Tai Lung make a return, but the actor's have already been announced and Ian McShane isn't part of the cast. (Sadly.) My plot would have been for the Wuu-shi finger hold to have blasted him to Po's village. (Where Po will be traveling in the third movie.) And have been adopted by Po's father since he got amnesia from the blast and fall. Po freaks out and all the pandas think he's just being racist against predators. And then the panda village is attacked and Po's father is killed where he tells Tai Lung to take over as the leader of the pandas because he is his son. (Just like Po is Mr. Ping's son.) Po gets mad, and he and Tai Lung fight and Tai Lung beats Po. Po returns to the Jade Palace and finds Shifu dying. He takes over Shifu's position as leader and takes over the Jade Palace. Then we get to see Po as an old man years later with the new Furious Five around him. He walks to the peach tree with Oogway's cane and sits down, and is blown away as peach blossoms and the movie ends.

Great original plot! I like that, and, for me, one day Po'll take the Shifu's position as the leader of the Jade Palace and blows away as peach blossoms like Oogway. Thanks. I love writing so it would be awesome to see... But I didn't think Po should have a family. Like Shifu never had a family. I think it makes them less to show favoritism to the orphans that they bring to the Jade Palace. And if Po became really serious about Kung Fu and being the leader of the Jade Palace. I don't think he would have time for a family. For the new Furious Five I would actually pick people from the series Legends of Awesomeness. Because they made a lot of nice characters, but they have horrible writing and stories. I would pick Peng, Lu-Shi (even though she was Po's girlfriend for a while. I think they would just be good friends.), Song (Also a girl who liked Po.), the little rabbit girl from Po's fan club, and the goose boy from Kung Fu Daycare episode. I think it would be fun to see a more female cast of Furious Five characters than mostly males. So, 3 girls and 2 boys compared to the current 2 girls and 3 boys and Po.

I was shocked (as I already said) when I learned that Rebel Wilson probably would 've played the next love interest of Po, 'cause according to my logic, Po should have no own family, like Shifu-and you said this, and I agree with you-. The idea that Po might have a future wife and kids made ββme cringe. But who see this?! Brrr.
For the plot for the 3rd film, I had thought about a possible return of Tai Lung, as it has never been called "dead", but "probably dead." I was hoping in the back of a great villain, rather in creating another one. Yeah, Po's my favorite hero and the greatest, but if he've too many enemies gets boring, in my point. I've watched out on Internet, and I've find a quote of del Toro saying:
"[...] All I can say is the bad guy in the third one is possibly the most formidable villain in the series...", so, what I've understand is that in the third film will be an another villain. I don't know what to say.

I wish as well. They bring in villains and immediately get rid of them. I was hoping that the two villains (Lord Shen and Tai Lung) would team up. I didn't like that they brought in a love interest for Po. He doesn't need one. He loves Kung Fu and that should be enough. But to have him become a family man... Ugh!!! It's so cliche'.

I think that Dreamworks will try to finish the series with the only way they've always done it. With a wedding, or at least two getting together. Which is sad, but that doesn't mean they can't do specials and prequels. Or inbetween movies. They did it with Shrek and stuff. So, there's no telling. But to be less condescending... Tai-Lung and Tigress aren't siblings. They had the same adoptive father, yes, but at dramatically different intervals in their lives. They engaged in different types of training, technically meaning that they had two different care takers. Additionally, Tai-Lung was the only student under Shifu for the entire duration up to his incarceration, while Tigress was the only student for a tiny duration, then she was joined by Master Oogway's student, Monkey, and the other students whom eventually formed the Furious Five. So if you want to play the 'Sibling' card... With the heavy amount of admiration and attention that Po gets; he may as well be related to Tigress as well as another of Shifu's 'adopted' children, even though they already are brothers and sisters-in-arms.
Work on that logic when you get the chance. I don't think you know what it means, nor how to properly convey that you have any.

So, first of all, I'll go ahead and tell you that, if you don't get your proper nouns straight when referring to Kung-Fu Panda, you're never going to convince me, or anyone else, that you've even watched any part of the movies or the series. It's Gongmen, not Gong man.

She doesn't want to see him dead, but she certainly doesn't see him as something that needs to be coddled 100% of the time. She said she didn't want to see her 'friend' get killed, because she had to put the message across that his safety and well being is clearly in jeopardy, and he is still her responsibility. Being the leader of the Furious Five automatically places you in the position where you must watch over the others in your tow... She clearly had to do the same for the 'Dragon Warrior' since he's very prone to jump to his own death at the first opportunity...
Additionally... a 'Friend', is not a 'Fuck Buddy'. So to answer your question; yes, I can see the difference, however I don't believe you can.

I wouldn't even say adoptive father. The correct term would be foster father. And he fostered Tai Lung, Tigress, and even Po. (He fostered them all in Kung Fu by providing one on one training to his favorites.) So, that would be why Tigress was jealous of Po when he first came to the Jade Palace. She was jealous of her foster father fostering another n00b in Kung Fu.
So, technically as I said before... Tigress and Po are also related so if they want to claim it's incest for Tai Lung and Tigress... It's more incestuous for Po and Tigress to be together. Because they are being fostered at the same time.
Besides... These idiots don't relize that Tai Lung and Tigress are not blood relations. They have no relatives in common so by all accounts and purposes they could marry, have sex, and... They could actually have children since they are both of the classification of feline. Po and Tigress could never have sex and children because they're genes can't blend.

There are more, but I do believe that a lot of PoXTigress people only like that because they want to be part of the in crowd. Like those people who start watching MLP just so they can belong to something. It's just like when all the homosexuals joined the furry community because they found something to belong to.

I judge anyone that doesn't seem to care about the literal break between right and wrong... No matter how much they try to say it... It's hard not to think that Po is the main villain of the series just do to his actions. If the show had a different name, and there was more screen time for the other characters, how much do you want a bet that the viewers would start to hate Po, and shift their attention to someone else.
I mean honestly--if the seven characters each had the same amount of screen time and responsibility. ( Like saying that they're all successful kung-fu Masters instead of everyone sucking at their jobs but Po ... ) The shift of popularity would shift dramatically. Because how many times has Crane, Mantis, Viper, Tigress, Monkey OR Shifu completed the missions they're tasked with?
Really if the series was just called 'Legends of Awesomeness' or rather... 'Legends of the Jade Palace' or something of the like... and face fat wasn't the focus, how much better would the series be?

Po and Tigress are two completely different skill sets and levels. Tigress loves discipline and honor. Po loves eating and sleeping (and playing hero). She's not going to just bow down and grovel for Po's love and affection. These idiots are so stupid if they think real women work like that.

Everyone in the Jade Palace are brother's and sister's in Kung Fu. So, Po is Tigress brother. Viper is Tigress sister. Viper is Po's brother. They are one in Kung Fu so no one in the Jade Palace can date or marry one another.

Is that the only thing you got from that? How very childish. You can see what I meant. They are all brothers and sisters of the Jade Palace. They cannot marry, and they cannot marry one another. You are arguing a point that is made by Dreamworks, Chinese Shoalin, and the world...
Even real jobs and work you cannot be married to or date your co-workers. You would have to quit your job to be with your co-worker.
And once again... Po is not going to give up being Dragon Warrior in order to marry anyone. He loves himself and his title only. Po is just a big man/child no self respecting woman would date or marry that. (Lu Shi the goat in bride of Po was insane and crazy. So, you can see the caliber of women that would like Po. Misses Yuun also wants Po and she's old and senile. Again... These are the women who like Po. Song liked Po, but she was a thief and left him even though he wanted her to stay.
