I had a MIGHTY NEED to draw Jem after skimming my copy of Clockwork Prince for nostalgia, which was a VERY bad idea. I should have known it would bring back the old aches of my poor heart. I'm highly anticipating Princess, but at the same time I'm prepared to kill it with fire and bury it in my backyard if a certain theory proves to be true. (Fans, you know what I'm talking about...)

-character belongs to Cassandra Clare (even though I wouldn't mind owning him... at least he'd be in safe hands, you know? ;_; )
-used Anthony Neely's beautiful face as ref, since he could totally pass as Jem /cough

I mean I can drive over one morning, ring the doorbell, and leave mine in front of your door in a box like a mailman. It'd be early though, around 8-9 since I don't have a car of my own and I'd have to use my sister's. But I'd do it for the sake of you reading Prince! Bri and I need to vent our feeeeelings.

Oh yes, not the only one feeling the way you are about the books...rereading Clockwork Angel now, and Prince is next before Princess comes out...Much dread...
On a different note, I love how you drew Jem. It's magnificent, and the way the pale colors and dark overcoat are used go really well together.

Re-reading the whole series? Oh gosh, SUCH BRAVERY Not sure I could take all that angst again so soon. And by soon I mean it's already been a couple years and I still don't think I'm ready for the entirety of those two books again, haha. May the gods have mercy on your soul.

lol. I loved them so much...and I can't wait for the movie! We'll see what happens to my level of sanity (or lack thereof thanks to the first reading of the books lol) after I reread them...and to think I still haven't bought them for my own...I'm waiting until they box the whole set...which could take a while.

Not sure how I feel about it being on the big screen. Either I would ogle at its beauty or ragequit in the middle of the film. xD Wouldn't a box set cost more? Since they'd be perfectly packaged in a pretty box. I've never had a box set so I actually have no idea.

Well (of course, this was online, but...) I looked on Amazon and a boxed set with the first three in hardcover was cheaper than buying them separately...and it was about $30, so I would have had free shipping, too...I saw the first four at Walmart the other day in paperback but didn't get to check the price, and I would like them in hardcover anyway...

I'm feeling the exact same way as you. I want to know how it ends but at the same time I don't. I don't think I can handle it. Dreading the day I'm going to re-read Clockwork Prince for preparation of Clockwork Princess.
I really like the soft strokes you used in this; it definitely plays well to Jem and his character. Very light and beautiful, just like him~ Wonderful work!

YOU KNOW MY PAIN. That is EXACTLY why I didn't re-read it, just skimmed. I'm not ready to go through with all that again. Even just skimming had me thinking of all the possible endings, but no matter what I thought I just kept thinking that... well, someone has to get hurt. Because she can't keep them both. The brain knows no end to the suffering that can come of these books. Like I'm just thinking of how painful it probably is going to be for Jem to die. And then I freak out and plead with my mind to stop and think happy thoughts. And then I die a little more on the inside.
I really need to just stop.
And the fans of this series have to find a more organized way to meet up. I would really like to know how many more people like us are around. We need the support anyway.
I totally understand how you feel though. The image I have of him in my head will never come out on paper. But you should totally be proud with what you have done! I really couldn't ask for anything better~ xD

Judging by the fandom on tumblr, there's a ton of us, haha. Fans of Will will probably rejoice if they get their happy ending. I mean, it's not about Jem ending up with Tessa for me. I just want him to be happy, because he genuinely deserves it. I wouldn't even mind if Tessa was out of the picture and Will and Jem could continue their bromance--/hit

How have I not come across them? I need to sort my priorities when I'm on Tumblr. I'm a Jessa fan (but a realist when it comes down to Will and Tessa), but I agree that my number one concern is that he's happy, however that may come. There is no one else in the world that deserves happiness more than our very own James Carstairs.

The Clockwork Prince tag on tumblr is crowded with CP feels. The first time I finished reading it I was so thankful that tag was there, since so many reactions of people were like mine, haha. It felt good to know there were others out there with the same thoughts as me.
