Our most recent art assignment was dramatic lighting. Of course I forgot every single idea I had had for it. I took about a hundred pictures using my sun lamp and everything, but ended up finding this in my reference photo file.I spent a lot of time shading the folds and parts of the pants, only to remember this thing had to be dark. The reference picture (the darkened one, not the original) had everything on the pants black. So, I had to go and color black over my carefully shaded bits. I had meant to scan the shaded layers onto here to show my progress, but i forgot to bring it home, then I was told to darken it... *sigh*

This is very good. i like the position that she is in. makes the picture a bit more interesting, i really like this work of yours. i wish i was still in high school in art class i miss it a whole bunch.

Awesome! I saw your photo, too. Looks amazing, really, and the shadows. ^^ Really well done. I have a problem with crayons...can't shade too well with colors yet. :/ Only with oil, or acrylic, and another stuff, but not crayons. :/

Yea! That (colored pencils). xD I said crayons, but I wanted to say that. I don't even know what's the diference between the name crayons and colored pencils. o.o;

Dramatic pose is good! The lighting is rendered really well, and the expression is awesome. XD
The folds in the pants look very realistic, as does the hair.

This is quite stunning. I did think it was a photograph. One thing that's slightly off is the left pantleg (viewer's right) seems a bit different than the right, shading wise. It's more drastic than its counterpart.

Yeah, the (viewer's) left pant leg is supposed to be darker. I'll have to fix that if the pencil isn't already built up too much on that side.
