I understand. That would be my wish too. I wished dogs lived longer! I also try not to think about it but I do more than I should.

And you're right! It's odd to think that someday, *knocks on wood*, my darling, Smokey will no longer be around to make me laugh and smile and give me comfort. Instead it'll be another dog...
But the most important thing is that they had an amazing life while on this Earth. And I like to believe that one day I will see him again after he's... departed... his ways..
