Honestly that's one of the best designed Youmu's I've seen in a long time. Where did the idea to make a steampunk version of her come from?

Well I just simply adore the design especially Myon xD. (Plus Youmu is still one of my favorite Touhou Project characters.)

Great work!

I understand, I wouldn't know where to start either but I see your art needs more views. It's a shame that it mostly goes unnoticed.

Awww
You hit me right in the kokoro
;w;
Its kinda sad when you work on sth and spend your day just doing it only for favs
;___;
I've always been trying on promoting and sharing, but i think i need more time to be noticed by ppl, a lot of ppl
T___T

Athuair In reply to Kuaci-Kunya [2016-04-28 11:19:06 +0000 UTC]

Awww, sorry about that my friend
I agree, it breaks my heart when I draw for days to make every detail perfect and people look at it for a split second, fave it and run. _-_
What I think would definitely help to promote your art and you is a DD (daily deviation).
It is chosen by admins, and there is one admin for each of the categories. About a year ago I liked an art from another user, and recommended it for a DD and they got it in the next few days. I think their page got over 50,000 views in a single day. If you're planning to draw a next piece these days, I recommend it's something with a nice background, and maybe emotional, that's what they usually prefer when choosing a DD. Then I'll recommend it to them and we'll keep our fingers crossed!

I also shared my arts on a lot of groups on DA that relates into anime and manga, yes i get more viewers rather than i only use hashtag
But sometimes it a lil bit bothers me whenever i share my arts on some groups, it get rejected or even get no attention
Lets not talking about attention, i've been sharing my arts on some groups, yet it didnt give me significant viewers as i thought
Or maybe it because of the differentiate between my hours and most deviations hours, like 12 hours gap
>___>

Athuair In reply to Kuaci-Kunya [2016-04-28 11:51:57 +0000 UTC]

I can't believe anyone would reject your art   wtf??   Maybe their folders are full or something similar? Often the admins don't give a reason as to why a deviation was rejected, but it could be something as simple as that, definitely ask them for a reason next time!

Hmm, I believe it's more because people choose not to get deviations from the groups in their notifications. A lot of groups will accept ANY kind of art, like from beginners that don't know anatomy or what a brush is..
People don't appreciate being spammed by such art, so they just choose to not receive it anymore.
Try to join to a group that has high standards for art, so not any kind of art can be accepted.
I joined a few, but I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

Yeah, i dont know
I also dont know how DA works
Im still new here, i created DA a year ago but i got hiatus
Also about group thing, i get recommended by someone who really cares about newcomer artists
I also just known about those groups with standart or even deviations who deactive their notifications from groups
Omg, i need ppl to guide me with this kind of social media
;____;
Btw, how do i know if some groups have a standart or nah?
All i did was just sharing, promoting, sharing, promoting, etc without knowing whether the groups are really care about arts made by artist or nah
@_@

Athuair In reply to Kuaci-Kunya [2016-04-28 12:36:25 +0000 UTC]

If a group has an art standard it will be said on their profile page.
Look this group for an example highqualityart.deviantart.com/
You could join some contests as well to promote your art more, maybe also make a twitter and Facebook account and post your works there. I don't have a twitter account but I heard a lot of people on dA do, and it works for them. Also, there is Pinterest and Patreon .
It's best to read the rules of a group before joining it, so you know what to expect.

that group full with semi-realistic art
i dont think i can compete with them >__>
yeah, maybe you're right
i should join some contests to promote my arts
but how do i join it ? @_@

i've created patreon, but still noone becomes my patron
i think my arts and Linearts arent worth 5 USD a month xD

i do have pixiv, but i dont really understand how it works
also it full with japanese and im not really good on it

Athuair In reply to Kuaci-Kunya [2016-04-28 13:35:57 +0000 UTC]

I know it's full of semi-realistic art XD, I just showed you as an example of what they're looking for when submitting work.
Every group has their own rules

There's a contest here you can try. I am one of the prize donors
Everything you need to know is written in that journal.
A lot of groups hold contests, you can always opt to receive their journal updates to your inbox.

Every time you submit an art here on dA put a stamp with a link to your Patreon profile saying that they should go there to support your work. What you need to offer to people so they support you is access to the full art piece, if they become your patreons, while keeping them interested by offering cropped piece here. But I guess it would only work if it's something like this . Where they can get a 'special view'

I've never been on pixiv, but I'll check it out. I'm also collecting the dust from not being so knowledgeable about those webpages. It seems like there's a new one every day

Kuaci-Kunya In reply to Athuair [2016-04-28 13:46:02 +0000 UTC]

i've tried it too
but i think it doesnt work that way
so i decided to share my line art everytime i post an art (if only its not a commission)
also, i dont really understand how patreon work
and too bad, im not really good on drawing "special view" @_@
i think i need to practice more on it

pixiv is kinda cool, you have to check it out

There is on more thing, with this one you cannot go wrong!
It's fool-proofed way! Make tutorials! Show us how you draw.
Example - only pose tutorial, only coloring tutorial, important part is - DON'T cover everything in one tutorial!
Don't make one tutorial showing lineart + coloring + final effects. Spread it trough more of them. Other artists will look up to you and add you to their watch so they can regularly receive your new tutorials! I would love to see how you make your art look so awesome!

Heheh, 'special view' is hard, I agree, but you're doing great!

thank you so much for your advices
;w;
i'll try to share them on how i color
btw, which is the best ? .gif tutorial or just simple tutorial like .jpg or .png ?

Athuair In reply to Kuaci-Kunya [2016-04-28 14:26:43 +0000 UTC]

You're very welcome

I think the .png would be best. I would recommend you not to ever use .jpg format when saving your art.

Because of the lossy nature of JPG, it is not an ideal way to store art files. Even the highest quality setting for JPG is compressed, and will change the look of your image, if only slightly. JPG is also not an ideal medium for typography, crisp lines, or even photographs with sharp edges, as they are often blurred or smeared out by anti-aliasing. What is potentially worse, is that this loss can accumulate—saving multiple versions of artwork can cause degradation with every save. Even so, it is common to see these things saved as JPG, simply because the filetype is so ubiquitous.PNG supports 8-bit color like GIF, but also supports 24-bit color RGB, like JPG does. They are also non-lossy files, compressing photographic images without degrading image quality. PNG tends to be the biggest of the three filetypes and isn’t supported by some (usually older) browsers. In addition to being an excellent format for transparency, the non-lossy nature of 24-bit PNG is ideal for screenshot software, allowing pixel for pixel reproduction of your desktop environment.GIF is by nature an 8-bit color file, meaning they are limited to a palette of 256 colors, which can be picked from the RGB color model and saved to a Color Look Up Table (CLUT), or simply “Color Table.” There are, however, standard color palettes, like the “Web Safe” palette. An important note is that Grayscale images are by nature an 8-bit palette, so saving them as GIF is fairly ideal.
Apart from support for transparency, GIF also is supports animations, limiting every frame to 256 preselected colors.
While GIF is not lossy like JPG, conversion to 8-bit color distorts many images, using dither filters to optically blend, or “diffuse,” colors
