Description
The bear Columbus lived in his toy bin for many years until the child he belonged to grew up and no longer played with him. But Columbus wasn't sad, he was off to discover! Since the child no longer needed him he decided to go on an adventure. So, he went to the garden with some string and roped together some butterflies tying them to his toy bin. Grabbing his telescope he boarded and let the butterflies lift him up into the sky. He was going to see the world and be back before anyone noticed. Life isnt about endings, it's about new adventures and beginnings, as well as the paths and people that lead us there.The butterflies lifting the balloon was not an original idea, I will have my inspiration for this linked below. I'm not sure who the original artist was if I find out I will definitely update.
This picture was drawn with sharpie, pencil crayons, and the sky was painted using watercolour.

My inspiration
As of November, (2015) Butterfly Balloon 2 is under progress. Since this drawing was so loved I've decided to reuse the concept in yet another unique and heart warming way.

mustnt have been easy getting the markings on all the butterflies just so.... i personally think it could have been made better by angling the butterflies a little more, so they arent all facing us straight on, for a more 3D effect, but overall it is a wonderful image and i like the feeling it invokes.
