Description
This is a "free to use" (hence the "F2U" designation) aircraft design for anyone who may have a need for it. The image is transparent so that you will be able to color it as you desire. I've seen my original aircraft designs used on other websites, sometimes proposed as combat aircraft for fictional nations of theirs. For that reason, I was inspired to start producing a line of aircraft art that can be used for exactly that. I don't mind. Go ahead and give it a name, a color scheme and custom military insignia!

F2U-5 is a placeholder designation for this heavy interceptor or reconnaissance aircraft, similar in role to the SR-71 or YF-12. This was kind of an old attempt of mine to "improve" the SR-71 by putting the engines closer to the fuselage and thus reduce the yawing moment produced in the case of an engine failure. Of course, there is a trade-off in doing this: it necessitates a lengthening of the engine nacelles, which increases weight and drag.
