It is a narrative from Genesis 11:9-1 trying to explain why people in this world speak different languages.A very long time ago, a united human race speaking a single language and migrating to the east, came to the land of Shinar. They agreed to build a tall tower there. When the god foresaw people building it would get powerful, he made them speak different languages so that they would find it more difficult to collaborate.
