Description

Grevas is the fourth character in the game that the player meets; but he’s actually the second character I designed. He switched roles multiple times in the development process until I finally settled on the Monk archetype. He was originally intended to be a dark priest, donning black robes but as the game storyline changes I put him in the Monk duty. 

I had the most fun designing him out of all characters as I knew immediately what kind of look I want to portray: basically, abs, resting bitch face rough-on-the-edges facial expression tough guy glare, and big ass sparkling hammer. Funny, when making the animation sheet later, his monk abilities ended-up have barehanded fighting pose LOL. Kept the hammer anyway for other non-Monk melee skills though coz I think the hammer sold the look. He may or may not be inspired the black priest guy from DFO, in fact, his scrapped dark priest design look so much like him XD

Grevas dropped out of the Magic Academy of St. Caravelle to pursue study in martial arts in a monastery in the reclusive Mistwalker Island. He was implied to be jealous at the success of his younger sister, Odellia, who graduated before him and is now recruited into the council; however he never told this to her sister. 

Grevas’ weapon of choice is the Diamond Hammer he crafted himself. He noted that scepters and staffs are too fragile in his preferred physical combat.

While his proficiency in healing and supportive abilities, he can switch into monk stance to provide him boost in strength at the cost of healing power to dish out deadly chain attacks at the enemy.
